Meet the Doctors
Dr. Gary Adiska
I started my career in engineering and management, where I worked for several years before deciding to enter the dental field. A few of my close friends were always commenting on how much they loved their careers in dentistry, encouraging me to make the switch. As it turns out, dentistry was a perfect fit. I have been known to be quite a talker and enjoy making connections with my patients, while improving their oral health. I am very excited about the latest technological advances in dentistry and continue to make sure the practice is always offering the latest and greatest in modern dentistry. I have been very active in the communities we serve ,including coaching, teaching Sunday School, organizing a junior golf league, and helping young people in general. I am very lucky to be able to work with my daughter Dr. Heather, my best friend Dr. Mark, and some of the best team members a person could ask for. We have a lot of fun working together and I hope that feeling is infectious to those that enter our office.
I pursued my career at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. I graduated in 1986 and started the dental practice in downtown Stockbridge, later expanding the practice to Pinckney in 2009, Manchester in 2014, and Owosso in 2015. I am a current member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, and pursue many hours of continuing education.
In my spare time, I enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and boating.
Dr. Heather M. Adiska
I enrolled into dental school after truly seeing just how much my father loved his career and the people he served. I thought, if I could even have half as much enjoyment from my career that he does, I would still be doing quite well. After years of working side-by-side with each other, we often joke about who has the better job--we both LOVE it! I was born and raised in the Stockbridge area and continue to call it home with my daughter, Elliya. I am very excited about the many advances in dentistry and pride myself on trying to conquer dental fear in patients of all ages. I strongly believe that everyone deserves a winning smile, whether you are 1 or 100 years old. I have a special interest in cosmetic dentistry as well as working with children. Check out our Smile gallery to see real cases that I have done. Currently there is only a small collection, but I will be posting more pictures soon.
I attended Northern Michigan University from 1997 to 2001, majoring in Physiology under the pre-dental program. From there, I attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After graduating in May 2005, I have been a full time practitioner at Adiska Family Dental and a member of the American Dental Association and the Michigan Dental Association.
In my spare time, I enjoy camping, golfing and spending time with my family.
Dr. Mark Potocki
As a child, I loved to work with my hands building things. I built go-karts, mini bikes, bicycles, anything I could get my hands on. My interests in school were always in the sciences and when I graduated from the University of Michigan, I had planned on going to medical school (thinking this was a great way to blend the two). The problem was, I didn't initially get accepted and when I was deciding how to move forward, I became a teacher. During my short time as a teacher, I had a good friend who was in dental school and he encouraged me to apply. I was accepted and have been very thankful for the way such fateful events in my life brought me to this wonderful profession. After dental school, I joined the AirForce, later practicing in Perry, MI for over 20 years before joining Adiska Family Dental in 2010. My wife, Lila and I have three children. My two sons, Jon and Brian, are also dentists and commisioned officers in the Army and AirForce. Someday I hope to practice with them. My main interests in dentistry include implant placement, root canal treatment, difficult restorative cases and surgical extractions of wisdom teeth. I love knowing that these procedures can greatly improve a person's quality of life and that I had a hand in that.
I am a member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
When I am not in the dental office, I enjoy playing ice hockey, running, fishing and just being active.
Dr. Kathryn Brown
From a very young age, I enjoyed going to the dentist. So much so, that I have worn almost every hat in the dental office, at one time or another, on my journey to becoming a dentist. I started my career in elementary school, extracting the loose teeth of my younger sister.
My more formal education and training began with a Bachelor of Science degree inBiochemistry from the University of Detroit-Mercy. I earned an additional bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Michigan in 2011, and then transitioned to the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where I earned my DDS in 2015. Throughout my education, I worked in general dentistry and pediatric practices, strengthening my front office, dental hygiene and assisting skills. Upon earning my DDS, I was accepted to a general practice residency at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital where I was able to further develop my abilities in more advanced dentistry and work with special needs and medically compromised patients. I have a passion for working with children and patients with special needs, and enjoy the artistic side of restorative dentistry.
I am a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. I am excited to continue my journey with Adiska Family Dental as a dentist in the Manchester and Stockbridge offices. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, yoga, baking and figure skating.
Dr. Ju-Hee Ma
Since I was little I have enjoyed working with my hands from playing the violin to knitting laces and sewing. I found that Dentistry allowed me to work with my hands and combined my interest in math, science and art. I get great satisfaction by learning someone’s story while helping them bring back their beautiful smile. I believe everyone deserves a smile to be proud of no matter your age. I welcome infants to the elderly and am able to explain dentistry in an easy language that anyone no matter age or background can understand. I enjoy all aspects of dentistry including cosmetic dentistry, invisible orthodontics, crowns, bridges, implants and veneers. I sympathize with anyone experiencing tooth pain and will see them same day to address their dental emergency. Many times I can do a root canal or extraction without the need to refer out. I studied dentistry at the University of Michigan and have been working in the field now for several years. I am committed to providing exceptional dental care while putting anxieties at ease by working quickly and efficiently while maintaining my patients’ comfort.
Outside of the practice I enjoy spending time with my young son Ian and my husband Hoon. I met my husband while in dental school. I love having a lifelong companion who shares the same passions as I do. We are able to support and help each other grow within the profession we both love. We enjoy golfing, skiing and biking when we are not busy chasing after our young explorer.
